Assistant Public Utilities Director

The City of Abbeville is accepting applications for a full-time Public Utilities Director.

Under limited supervision this position provides assistance to the Public Utilities Director.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Bachelor's degree with equivalent years experience in related field preferred 
  • Valid SC Driver's License
  • Must pass a criminal background check and a driver's license record check
  • Must be able to complete a medical and physical assessment including drug screening

Firefighter

The City of Abbeville is accepting applications for a full-time firefighter.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED
  • IFSAC Firefighter I certification
  • First Responder certification preferred 
  • NIMS/ICS
  • EVDT and Pumper Operations I certification preferred
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Valid SC Class D Driver's License
  • Must pass a criminal background check and a driver's license record check
  • Must be able to complete a medical and physical assessment including drug screening

Position hours: 12 hour shifts

Salary: Salary dependent upon experience and qualifications

Police Officer

The City of Abbeville is accepting applications for a full-time police officer.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Must have no criminal record
  • Valid SC Class D Driver’s License
  • Must be able to pass a background and license check, drug screen and medical physical
  • SC Class 1 LE certification preferred, but not required
  • Pay Range: $28,731 - $33,283 according to experience
